The word of local publication is very close for the one who are involved in the world of PUSDOKINFO (Documentation and Information Center) especially for the relevant agency/department in each Provincial Government that performing Deposit function. What is a Deposit? For common people, it only a saving deposits. Actually, it has different meaning for the literacy information fighters especially in library field that run its function.

According to Panjaitan (2003), the function of library Deposit is as a place to keep the library materials about a certain region which published in local or outside. Beside, Law Number 43 of 2007 is also explained that the collection is all informations in the form of papers, prints and recording works in various media that have the value of education which collected, processed, and served.

We can conclude that each Provincial Library is responsible to collect all publications which issued by a region. The Agency of Archives and Library of Bangka Belitung Islands Province is annually implementate this task through the activities of Collection of Regional Issues and Bibliography Preparation Activities of Regional Central and Catalog of Regional Central. Later on, the result of the activities will be printed in form of the Catalog Book Central Area of Bangka Belitung and Bibliography Central of Bangka Belitung Region which subsequently forwarded to National Library. In addition, the formation of deposit collection at Provincial library will help peoples who need special information about Bangka Belitung area.

To run this function, the Agency of archive and Library Office need support and cooperative attitude from writers and publishers both (private and government) within the Province of Bangka Belitung Islands. The existence of awareness based on Law no. 4 of 1990 concerning the Delivery of Printed Works and Record Article 2 said that every publisher in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia shall submit 2 (two) copies of each title of the printed work to the National Library and one copy to the Regional Library at the provincial capital no later than 3 (three) months after the issuance. the fact in the field found that nor to submit the printed work voluntary, to be visited to each publishers, most of them are refuse it or even refuse to do cooperate.

When each region is struggling to promote and show its existence out there, on the other hand Bangka Belitung refused to do it. The last fact show that in 2016, the acceptance of the Work Print Record from Bangka Belitung in the National Library are only 2 titles, 4 copies of a total of 17 publishers who had asked for an ISBN number.

However, what ever the circumstances and the conditions, the Agency of Archives and Libraries always do its best and hoped  publishers will grow more in Bangka Belitung as well as their awareness to hand over their works. It can started from the goverment environment itself. For the agencies/department that publish issues in form of books, magazines, bulletins and etc are encouraged to overprint their printed then submit it to the provincial library. For the publishers who are not able to submit their physical collections, they can only submit the bibliography data to the library as it will help society to know more about its own region and for the progress of Bangka Belitung itsself.

The existence of Deposit collection in Provincial Library is expected will be a one-stop information for the public especially for Bangka Belitung peoples. In addition, they will get all the information needed in one place.
