A library is an institution or social institution which managed professionally. A Professional management means when the library and manager can meet criteria and standard of the library.
National Library of Indonesia held this technical guidance for school library managers of SMA/SMK/MA (both public and private school) in the province of Bangka Belitung.
The National Library as a non-ministerial institution perceives that they are responsible for all library managers including the region school libraries to meet the standards of professional library management.
A total of 120 school library managers (Junior High School/ same level) around Bangka Belitung Province are attending this technical guidance. This activity held for two days starting from Thursday up to Friday (08-09 / 3/2018) at Santika Hotel, Pangkalpinang.

This technical guidance was opened by the Head of the Agency of Archives and Library of Bangka Belitung Province, Dr. Ir. Rofiko, MTP. In his speech, he conveyed that "Librarian or Library Manager is one of the important elements in the management and organization of libraries, the one who will also run the other elements in the library organization, to support the library role’s main tasks and function optimally. One reason why we carry out this technical guidance is to educate the school library managers on how to manage the library in properly and in accordance with established standard".
In this training, all participants are educating on how to role the school libraries in information literacy optimally, how to create literacy programs at schools, selected an appropriate library collections until guiding students to find valid information in this digital era.
