Actually, Library is not a new thing for publics but some of them are still give inappropriate definition of the library. Many people think that a library is a place contains lot of books. So, they assumed a room used to store their books whether in cabinets, bookshelves or in a box are considered to be their private library.

Currently, a library cannot be longer managed conventionally. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education said that the library should be transformed with the development of technology to answer the needs of the society. "In the future, a library is not only a gathering place to read books or finding information, but it is a working space to grow new innovations and become a virtual office, "said The Secretary General, Ainun in the Signing of Memorandum between the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education with National Library about Library Cooperation which held at Santika Hotel, Bangka Belitung (Thursday, 22/03/2018).

The speaker in this seminar, Eko Indrajit said that in this digital era, a library should be able to transform to the times and become a source of knowledge, not just a place of collection of books and reference sources. Currently, a library is changing into a place to interact with social community as well

as working space where new innovations grow. He also described how was a library transform from mobile library, library on the wall, hybrid library up to library in game in this digital era.

The signing of memorandum between the ministry of research and technology and higher education and the national library is organized at the same time with the working meeting  and the national seminar of university library communication forum 2018 attended by 110 universities from various librarians and practitioners. This event was also attending by the Rector of Bangka Belitung University, Muhammad Yunus, Head of Public Relations and Public Communication, Nada Marsudi and other guests.

The signing of memorandum signed consist of: (1) Human resource development in the library field; (2) Development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), digital repository, and Indonesia One Search (IOS); (3) The expansion of library networks of national and international scope; (4) Development of National Main Catalog Database (KIN); (5) Collection and preservation of Print and Record Works (KCKR); (6) Development and shared use of library collections including e-journal; and (7) Development of university libraries based on national standard library which includes data collection and accreditation of university libraries.
