Mobile library service is one of the services organized by the provincial library of  Bangka Belitung Province regularly. This service is intended to overcome the information gap of local societies who are difficult to reach library. Through this activity, the local government is make a try to provide information services to the society proactively in order to achieve one of the missions of the Agency of Archives and Library is to foster and develop a culture of reading.

In 2018, Provincial Library starts the mobile library service on April. It is a bit late from its schedule as the beginning of administration year need to be completed. On this April, The school priority target is the primary schools / Madrasah Ibtidaiyah which are not in an examination activity. In addition, their teaching and learning schedule accordance with the mobile library visit schedule. For the areas, Mobile Libary service will visit: Bangka district, Central Bangka, West Bangka and South Bangka.

The procedures of mobile library service are: selected the duty officers (a librarian and a staff from the agency of archive and library). After that, both officers will visit the mobile library target which is issued in the Letter of Duty signed by the Head of Archives and Library Agency. At last, when the officers completed their duty, they are required to make a report of their output activities.

Below are the targets of mobile library services that success to be implemented in April 2018:

In April 2018, mobile library has success to carry out 8 time mobile library services with the number of the visitors about 819 students. This number is expected will be continue to increase.

This mobile library service is expected can help society in obtaining informations, can spread the information services and reading services up to the remote areas and can built a good cooperation among social, educational, and local government institutions in improving the intellectual and cultural capabilities of the society.
